Living locally in New Town also meant that Roddy was able to be on site every day to supervise the trades as they came and went. Roddy did a fantastic job on our flat . It had been converted from an hotel about 30 years ago,and most recently had students living in it. Clearly not a penny spent for many years. As we did not live in Edinburgh , Roddy project managed the whole affair. We discussed plans up front and then he did a complete turnkey operation for us, finding all the tradesman, undertaking all of the procurement and  organising and overseeing all of the work. His experience of development and conversions meant he was able to give many practical suggestions and could turn our vague ideas in to concrete plans. He had good ideas on aesthetics and decoration. But he did listen to what we wanted. We felt we were still owners of the project. We felt sufficiently confident to leave him to progress all of the work without regular visits to monitor developments. Roddy was however very good at

contacting us to discuss issues or concerns as they arose. He managed the
finances in an orderly manner and kept us fully appraised of expenditure. He
suggested cost effective solutions to problems.

I would certainly use Roddy again if the opportunity arose and would recommend him to anyone who wanted assistance on renovating or refurbishment practically in
central Edinburgh with the associated planning restrictions.
